Visited:Nancy- parking €3/5hrs
As we enjoyed our early morning stroll along the canal, the fresh morning created a mist over the water.
We returned via the village of Xures which had no shops, only a church in the middle of the road.
So we reluctantly departed this peaceful spot and made our way to Nancy which we have previously visited in 2014. We managed to find a spot big enough for Bluey along the road next to Park Pepiniere, right in the centre of town. The highlight is the royal Place Stanislas, inaugurated in 1755 by the Duke of Lorraine (Stanislas the former Polish King). With its grand buildings of stone facades, gold-embossed wrought iron railings, beautiful fountains and Art Nouveau lamps it has become a UNESCO world heritage site.
The most impressive gate of the square is the Arc de Triomphe which heads towards the Place de la Carrière. This was once a jousting field and now is the government and justice hub of the city.
As we walked around with the trusted tourist map we saw lots of interesting buildings, churches, gateways, squares and parks.

Feeling a little weary we decided to look for a spot along the Moselle River and ended up in Liverdun. The town was built in a rocky spur and was a garrison for Toul’s bishops. Later we strolled along the ‘Boucle’ (bend) of the Moselle River, watching a few barges pass through.
