We travelled along motorways (the toll from Cuneo to the Recco exit east of Genova cost only €17), through many tunnels
and on skinny windy roads
to get to our spot in San Rocco, boardering on the Portofino National Park. The parking ended up being free until the 6th June.
We decided to take a walk into the village for some lunch but ended up walking along a track to the old gun battery from WWII. It was beautiful walking in the forest and the coastal views were amazing if not a tad hazy.
A view of Camogli zoomed in on the camera!
By the time we returned to the village of San Rocco it was 1:30pm and well past our lunch time! So we braved the 3000 steps (Mark's calculation) and went down to visit Camogli.
And it was worth it. Such a pretty fishing village with colourful houses. We picked one of the many restsurants on offer and we were not disappointed by the meal and the great view from our table.
Feeling satisfied we ventured down to the harbour to enquire about taking a boat to Portofino. Not a straight forward task from here but we may try to attempt it tomorrow.
We then had a look in the church
and the view of the village from Dragonara Castle.
The water looked so inviting that we waded in and regretted not having our bathers with us.
After taking in the atmosphere a little longer it was time to take the steps back up to Bluey...it only took us 20min! Mind you we were a tad sweaty and needed a cold shower and a beer! Cheers.
