Barrage du Sautet

Travelled:206km
Stay: Barrage du Sautet- free parking, no services, public toilet GPS N44°49.0632' E5°54.3906'

We said our goodbyes and thank yous for such a lovely weekend. We appreciate so much their support and assistance they offer us.
We then began the day with some phone calls; Sosh- our french phone provider to include the european calls option €5 for 1 hr per month; HSBC-our french bank account to clarify fees for use in non EU countries ie Croatia;Ford- to clarify that if we get our transit serviced at a Ford dealer we will get 12 months of free Ford assist; Kertel-french international calling card to see why my payment made only 3 months ago did not register and so, even though they took my money, the card has expired....needless to say I wont be using them again! After a bit of research ie google! I will give call61.com a try as I can use it from multiple countries.

Then it was food shopping time again. With Bluey filled up once again we headed South towards Gap. Camy (our GPS) gets all excited when we select toll roads even to the detriment of the most direct route! However the up side was that it was very picturesque with valley and mountain views.

Oh what fun! Narrow roads :)

Just before we rejoined the N85 at Corps we stopped at the Barrage du Sautet. There was a reasonably sized parking area and public toilet along with the required internet coverage...perfect. We are constantly surprised by the facilities offered in remote areas of France. Along with  great information on the barrage there are numerous ropes courses on the wall at the picnic area and down in the gorge below the dam wall. As we are not equiped for such activity we had a stroll around before dinner and the thunder storm that followed, cooling us down for the night.
