Mostar Bosnia

Travelled: 49km
Stay:Autocamp Blagaj €15 with simple amenities, river with picnic tables GPS N43.256390 E17.879440
Visited: Mostar

Last nights rain had cleared and we were able to go for a walk to St.James church in Medugorje. After consulting Wikipedia we found out that today the 24 June was the anniversary of the apparition of the Virgin Mary in 1981. It is the third most important apparition site for Catholics. Hence why there was sooo many people in town.
We made our way over the mountain and down to Mostar.

We had touble finding the parking area in CamperContact and decided to test our luck and parked at the bus parking area.
By this time the dark clouds had regathered and rain was starting to fall. Not to be deterred, we donned our rain coats and took our umberellas. It didn't take long for the streets to turn into rivers, but never the less, we took our photos of the Old Bridge, built by the Ottomans in the 16th century. It had been destroyed in the 1990's war but obviously rebuilt (by the EU) and is now a UNESCO site.

After a yummy mixed grill lunch of €9 for 2 including 3 beers!

We made it back to Bluey and Boris who were unscathed and no fines. We put in the GPS for the Autocamp in Blagaj. We did eventually get there after a few narrow pot holed tracks and a double back. Although it wasn't far, we decided to leave the cave visit for tomorrow and just take it easy this afternoon. Mike tried to catch us a fish dinner but none were biting, so it will be cold roast chicken instead.

Yesterday when we drove into Bosnia we all assumed it was euro currency (not sure why, but we did). We thought the price of fuel was extraordinary at €2.11 (or so we thought). Anyway, Mike and Jan spotted an ATM and went to get some euros and they got km instead! We found out that €1=2km...so now we are very excited to fill up on fuel before we leave!
