Wicklow Mountain Ireland

Day 92/Ireland 26
Travelled:70km to Clondalkin Round Tower, Dun Laoghaire and Sally Gap Wicklow Mountain area.
Stay: lookout along Sally Gap N53.1071 W6.2562

We had a slow start this morning after our 11hour day in Dublin yesterday, heading off just after 9am to the Clondalkin Round Tower. There was a small exhibition on the history of the town and the round tower.

We did some shopping and managed to get some water from a service station before continuing to Dun Laoghaire. It was once a major port town but now it is all geared up for the holiday makers. We parked in the street (€1.50/hr) and had a stroll along the foreshore and the pier. It was quite pleasant after the hectic pace of the city.

We tried to follow the coast further south but gave up due to traffic jams. So we turned Bluey westward towards the Wicklow Mountains. We travelled along the Sally Gap road to a look out. We parked up and decided to spend the rest of the day here.

After a late lunch we walked along the Wicklow Way track which offered some lovely views Lough Tay and the coast.
