Stay: Fortown Beach- large car park N55.1582 W8.0835
We woke up to beautiful blue skies and sunshine resulting in the warmest day we have had so far in the last 2 months. After breakfast we enjoyed another walk along the beach before heading off in Bluey once again following the Wild Atlantic Way this time to Rosguill Peninsula. The drive offered some more spectacular views.
A singing pub but too early in the day for us to attend.
A fine example of the houses here.
Along the way we passed Doe Castle set on a promontory overlooking Sheephaven.
We stopped in Portnablahy, had some lunch and watched the boats around the small harbour. We then continued up to Horn Head and went for a walk through the heather along the cliffs to the ruins of a Napoleonic tower built in defense of a French invasion.
Once again the views were amazing.
As it was by now getting on in the day we went to have a look at a beach car park for the night. It was very busy as it was such a lovely day. But we managed to get a park and went for a walk along another pristine sandy beach. By the time we got back, the carpark had emptied out and we settled in.
