Dingle Peninsula Ireland

Day83/Ireland 23
Travelled:55km from Castlegregory on the N86 through Dingle to a beach near Ventry
Stay: Emlaghslat Beach in Dingle Peninsula - grassy parking area behind sand dunes N52.1278 W10.3740

We didn’t get much sleep last night due to Bluey being pelted with rain and constantly rocking with the windy gusts. So we thought we would enjoy staying put and taking it easy. After our morning coffee we walked to the nearby camp ground which had a small shop where we bought some bread, milk and freshly baked croissants for breakfast. Over breakfast we did a bit of research on what there was to visit and see in Co.Kerry. We then went for a walk along the beach to Castlegregory.

We did a bit of shopping in the Spar and walked around town where there were a few pubs and cafes. By the time we did the 5km round trip we were ready for our cooked lunch.

Chicken Olives.

There was a knock at the door and we were politely told that overnight stays were not authorised here and we would need to move by 9pm. We apologised stating we had not seen any signs. After they left we were suspicious that they were probably from the nearby camp ground. Even though we may have had the right to stay we didn’t bother and packed up to go across to Dingle.

The town proved to be chaotic in the afternoon and so we continued on to a quiet beach parking area.

We had a walk up to have a look at the pub and then returned to have a lovely stroll along the beach.

We made it back to Bluey just as another shower came.
