Vitré, France

Travelled: 58km
Visited: Vitré, Changé
Stay: Changé- free parking and services, next to lake and Mayenne River, close to town N48.1003 W0.7845

Once again it was time to move on and we had to say our goodbyes to the family.  We are thankful for the opportunity and appreciate their time to allow us to share some time with them.
We managed to find some parking at the train station in Vitré. We thought the 50c/hour parking fee very reasonable. We also benefited from the 2 hour free parking at lunchtime 12 to 2pm. So off we went to explore the charming medieval town centre. There were a large number of lovely half-timbered houses from the 15th and 16th century.

The most imposing building is the 13th Century Castle with its many towers which can be reached crossing the drawbridge.

There were also a couple of stunning gothic churches.

From here our destination was Changé, just near Laval, on the Mayenne River. As the weather was once again unsettled, the afternoon was quite relaxing, walking around the lake and town in between showers.
