Woke up nice and early to a crisp clear sky. We got into Bourg en Bresse by 8 am and found a parking spot. We ventured into the prefecture at 8:30 when it opened and even though our appointment was at 9 we were in the put into the que and seen at 8:45am. Our papers were checked and signatures put on others then Marks' finger prints taken and he was given a paper visa in the interim until the proper card one is issued. This could take upto 6 weeks but we can pick it up anytime afterwards. The only thing that could not be confirmed is whether he will get a 10 year visa. Fingers crossed.
So we strolled out into the lovely sunshine but freezing wind down into the old quarter and into the church.

They love these woollen 'socks' here
Then off to visit the medieval town of Pérouges (we have been here before 11 years ago with the kids). Its a quaint little village with cobbled streets and lovely stone buildings. Many french films have used the town including "The Three Musketeers".
The afternoon was spent shopping for a new bike for Mark and some washing before heading off to my cousins for an enjoyable evening and too many drinks! Cheers..
