The Beaujolais to l' Ain

Travelled:112km
Visited: Beaujolais country, Chénas,Pruzilly,Prissé
Stay: St André sur Vieux Jonc- Aire parking and services free.
We started the day with a purchase of the local Chénas wine. We then set off on a lovely meander along the country roads of the Beaujolais. We drove through the village of Chénas before heading up the hill to Pruzilly where we stopped in the Aire and had a cup tea while admiring the views of the Beaujolais valley.
From here we drove past the Roche de Solutré (We walked to the top last year).
Then found a great place to stop for lunch in Prissé at Cafe d' Eric. We had the 'menu' 3 courses with a Maçon red. The terrine was offered in the big bowl it was made in, so you just helped yourself! This was followed by a steak for Mark and a boeuf brissé for me with a yummy sauce on the side. To finish was a chocolate mousse and lemon tart....ooh la la! No dinner tonight.
Look at the largest pepper grinder ever seen behind Mark!
We drove along more country roads before going through Maçon and heading down to the Aire in the quiet village of St André sur Vieux Jonc. We went for a stroll in the beautiful sunshine... no rain today!
Notice the tree. They love to super prune their trees.
