Gibb River and Pentecost River Crossing WA

From Drysdale Station we drove 56Km to the free camp at Gibb River Crossing. As it was still relatively early we managed to get a spot.

Shortly after arriving a couple we had met in Karijini National Park in a Cooee 4x4 truck came and parked up next to us. Another couple in a AAV truck joined us soon after. So we spent the next couple of days and nights sharing life and travel stories and cooling off in the refreshing waters of the Gibb River.

On Friday morning we once again ventured along the corrugations 77km to Ellenbrae Station for a morning tea of their famous scones.

Then it was another 118km to the Pentecost River Crossing.

It’s a very popular spot and we struggled to find a spot on the eastern side so we crossed the river again and parked up on the rocks next to the western river entrance/ exit. We spent the afternoon watching everyone crossing.

Not such a great day for these travellers

Full moon tonight
