We started our morning with a pleasant 2km hour loop walk from the campsite. There were several track rewarded us with a variety of scenic backdrops,featuring some of the unique honeycomb sandstone formations found in this part of the Kimberley. There were interpretive signs along the way about the animals and plants that can be seen here.
Then it was time to drive back out to Victoria Highway and continue eastward.
190km/2.5hours later we stopped at Big Horse Creek. We stretched our legs on the banks of Victoria River. It flows 560km from this area into the Timor Sea and is the longest river in NT. We keep an eye out for any salties but without getting the binoculars out we have no luck.
Just around the corner was a lookout with a monument and information about the Nackeroos, an observation unit established after the bombing in WWII. It was an interesting read.![]() |

Not far from here was a road side stop at Dingo Creek Lagoon. We managed to get the last spot thus ending our 219km journey for today.
