After a chat with Ted and Marg also escapees from Victoria we continued along the East Tilpa Road for about 94km. The gravel road was in good condition and thought it would remain so as at least 7 Caravaners made their way passed us going the other way. We crossed over the Darling River and stopped at the 100 year old Tilpa Pub for a beer and had a look around.
The war memorial included the name of Harry (The Breaker) Morant who served in the Boer War, who was controversially court-martialed.
The river water levels are quite distinctive here and it appears to be dropping from the highest point reached in April, to the dismay of the locals.
Wikicamps had a campsite at the wier only 6km out of town, so we headed out there and set up camp once again on the banks of the Darling River.
Mark is enjoying his ne electric chain saw
Bird of prey.
Another beautiful sunset
