Causeway Coast Northern Ireland

Day 62/ Northern Ireland 2/3
Travelled:89km
Stay: Cushendun- mixed parking N55.1255 W6.0411
Visited: Glenoe Falls, Glenarm, Cushendun

We enjoyed our rest day at Hazelbank Park, catching up on photo downloads and doing some trip planning intermingled with some walks along the coast.

As it was raining this morning we decided to do our laundry in Carrickfergus.

We then ventured further to a dump point at a golf course in Whitehead. A little further up the road wendid a small detour off the coastal road to have a look at the waterfall in Glenoe, rated as one of the most picturesque in Northern Ireland.

Next we stopped in Glenarm and had a walk around. It was once the family seat of the MacDonnells and claims to be the oldest town in Ulster.

After having a good chat with fellow Irish motorhomer, Kevin, we continued on and eventually stopping in Cushendun, situated in the heart of Glens of Antrim, nestled at the mouth of the River Dun.

The sheltered harbour and beautiful beach is surrounded by hill farms, hedgerows and traditional dry stone walls.

The Main Street is lined with historical buildings and Cornish-style architecture, making the village a unique attraction.

We went to have a look at the Red Caves recently made famous by Game of Thrones.

We then called it a day, enjoying the views from Bluey as slight precipitation once again began fall.
