Amiens to Gournay en Bray France

Travelled:90km
Visited: Amiens
Stay:Gournay en Bray- free parking and service point. N49.480381  E1.726680

We walked through the park to the Cathedral which is the largest in France. The front entrance has an amazing amount of statues around the portals.

Then there was the superb carvings inside depicting the life of St.John the Baptist. We were awed at the height of the nave and the beautiful stainglass windows.

After strolling through the main shopping strip we made our way to the old quarter with the old half timber houses in amongst the canals.

We then did a bit of shopping before heading South-West to an aire in Gournay en Bray which was full of circus people so we found a parking spot around the corner as it was late afternoon and we had had enough travelling for today. We love France for this as they will tolerate a motorhome stopping overnight practically anywhere! After dinner we went to have an explore of the town.
