Normandy back roads

Travelled:68km
Visited:Cleres, Montville
Stay:Montville-air, free parking,€ services, free wifi GPS N49°32.837'  E1°04.353'

We started the day we a lovely walk through a few streets of Mesnieres and down to the Chateau that can only be visited on the weekends.

From the town you can also access a great bike riding track, the PN88 from Paris to London (obviously you have to take the ferry at Dieppe!). We then travelled through some more beautiful country side,  it reminded us of Gippsland with fields on undulating hills.

We even got to 150m in altitude!  We wanted to stop in Auffay, but the market was on and there was no way of getting a parking spot.

So on we went to Cleres, which had some beautiful half timbered houses and brick building with some great roof designs.

We had a cup of tea to wash down our yummy cakes. The berry one was called 'Mireille' and the chocolate Royale had a delicious crunchy layer.

Lucky that we only have a few days to go! Unfortunately the castle was closed for 'the lunch'! So after our walk around town we continued a little further down the road to Montville which has an aire in the centre of town and offers free wifi. We spent some of the afternoon getting ready to put Bluey into storage ie a bit of cleaning and list writing of items we are leaving behind. We then had a walk around the town and the man-made lake before hitting the free wifi for itunes updates on the ipads and iphone aswell as window updates. We fully geeked out!
