To Ceduna and beyond SA

On our 4th day driving across Australia  we traveled 480km from Kimba to Kidnippy Rest Area via Ceduna.

We left the hordes of caravans in Kimba as the sun rose over the horizon to get to the dump point before the que started. Mark had already replenished our water tanks with potable water using our trusty bucket and 45° down pipe bend.

On our way out of town we took a photo of the impressive silo mural of the wheat fields.

Of course we had to take the photo of Buster and the famous 8m tall galah (who has had a nice paint job since pour last visit in 2021) built in 1993. It depicts the Half Way Across Australia.

Along the way we had a bit of precipitation and a beautiful rainbow.
We had breakfast in Wudinna at the Farmer Sculpture made from local granite in 2009.

The Desert Peas were stunning.

We continued our journey to Ceduna with lots of road trains going pass.
We topped up on fuel $1.69, probably the cheapest we will encounter until we back to Victoria! (Just consulted the Fuel App). We enjoyed some fish n chips with views of the jetty and then walked along the jetty.
We hit the road again and couldn’t resist a photo shoot at the Penong Windmills. They represent the windmills scattered across the area that pump water from the water basin.
We decided to do a few more Kms, stopping at the Nundroo Road House to top up the fuel tanks @ $1.739.
It was only another 17km up the road that we stopped at our overnight spot named Kidnippy Rest Area at around 3:30pm.
