Today we crossed over the border into Western Australia. We managed to do 505km across the Nullarbor and stopped to admire the Bunda Cliffs along the way.
We began the day with a short walk from our overnight spot at Kidnippy Rest Area, enjoying the sunrise through the trees.
Then back on the Eyre Highway A1 we took a few photos of some signs along the way…
We were disappointed at the whale watching centre that there were 00 whales to be seen… so we continued on.
We stopped at the Nullarbor Roadhouse and did another photoshoot with Buster. We must admit the conditions of the road houses have deteriorated since our last visit in 2021. Even the old Nullarbor Roadhouse has been closed and boarded up!Then we approached the Bunda Cliffs and find all the amazing camping along here has been closed, stating that the cliffs edges are unsafe. Having experienced staying there in 2021, we can only now limit ourselves to admiring this great vista from the couple of official lookouts.
We fill up with fuel at the Eucla Roadhouse ($2.29 vs $2.67 at the border!)
Our clocks are setback again by 45mins, so we decide with the extra time we will drive another 183km/2hrs to Madura Pass for our overnight spot. This time I am behind the wheel, giving Mark a break.
