Saint Blaise Switzerland

Travelled: 105km to Saint Blaise Switzerland to visit with family.

We had a lovely drive down from the Col des Mosses to Saint Blaise..
It’s not everyday you see a roundabout in a tunnel…
It’s very handy the service point in Saint Blaise

It was wonderful to meet up with some of my Swiss family, Hans and Eliane. We were treated to a lovely lunch on the lake of a specialty of the area, perch with in a lovely lemon sauce.

We then headed up to the hills to Chaumont 1100m alt which was slightly cooler. There is a fenicular that runs from here to Neuchatel.
We went up the tower, which offered some great views of Lake Neuchatel and the valley all the way to the Alps. It is the largest lake that is entirely in Switzerland, 40km long and about 7km wide and in some parts up to 90m deep.
We spent the rest of the afternoon at the family chalet and having a delicious BBQ dinner cooked by my cousin Laurent.
My cousin David also joined us.
It was wonderful to catch up again.
The following day Laurent took us for a drive past the garage where mum grew up.

Then up to the Col de la Vue des Alpes, unfortunately the weather was very hazy and we could not see the mountains clearly but it was still beautiful.
We drove further along  up to a lovely traditional Swiss restaurant and enjoyed another delicious meal with some local Pinot noir. Sorry I didn’t take any photos…
On the way back we had another view of the lake above near where Laurent lives..
The rest of the day we chatted to Hans and relaxed at his home keeping as cool as possible…
