Stay: Saint Lyphard free parking area
It was only a 20min drive this morning to Auray and Port of Saint Goustan. We parked in the designated motorhome area and walked a short way into the historic centre.
We popped in to have a look in St Gilda church.
Then we strolled along the narrow cobbled streets lined with some lovely half timbered buildings and shops.
We made our way down to the four arches stone bridge over the Loch River.
The other side was Saint Goustan with more quaint half timbered buildings.
During the 16th and 17th Century the port was the 3rd most important due to the wine and grain trade.
Further on our route was Vannes. We were very happy to find a parking spot only 5min walk to the old fortified town.
The Hôtel de Ville/Marie was very impressive.
As we ventured through the old town we were once again wowed by the uneven symmetry of the half timbered buildings in every direction we looked.
We enjoyed our lunch from a patisserie in the Saint-Patern district.
We strolled along the ramparts and admired the gardens
Later we saw the château.
The lavoir was one of the largest we have seen.
We returned to Bluey and picked a quiet spot to head to near Saint Lyphard and the Briere National Park that is the 2nd largest marsh land in Europe. There are several ways to visit the area including by boat or horse drawn carriage.
We walked along the tracks for a little while.
