Visited/stay: Rousseloy to pick up Bluey. CLC Rantigny (49.3418, 2.4317). Cauffry Ford. Triel sur Seine (48.9797, 1.9993).
We survived the long haul flight from Melbourne landing at 7:30am in Paris.
I think it was the fastest exit through customs (we were surprised that no one was interested in seeing any of our Covid paperwork. Admittedly we did show our vaccination certificates and French Document when checking in at Melbourne Airport). By the time we got to the baggage carousel, our luggage was already there. Our transport was waiting for us at the airport and then drive to Bluey near Rousseloy was in record time (probably because he was doing 140km most of the way haha). We did a quick pit stop to get some food for the first day and the we were reunited with Bluey after nearly 3 years…we weren’t too sure what to expect.
We were elated that Bluey started up first go.
He needed a good wash to get rid of a bit of dust and cobwebs.
After filling up the water we did spot a leak that we eventually found was under the bathroom sink. The only way to stop it was to turn off the pump which would prevent us from having a shower so we decided to drive to CLC in Ratigny to see if they had John Guest parts to repair the loose pipes. Unfortunately they didn’t stock the size we wanted but we bought some plugs for the pipes so we could at least use the pump. We decided to stay in the aire (Motorhome parking area) there. Suffering head aches and nausea, we had a 2h our sleep in the afternoon, which is usually a no-no for us but luckily we still managed to have a good nights sleep waking refreshed.
The next morning we drove Bluey to the ford dealership in Cauffry for a service and road worthy (which Bluey passed with flying colours. Yay!)
During this time we had a loan car so we could do some shopping in Saint Maximin. We had to buy some double tape to fix the bathroom mirror, which had fallen off, back onto the cabinet door. We even drove back to CLC Rantigny to buy a new rubber seal for the toilet. As there were a few items that did get a bit mouldy we got those washed too.
We had a steak lunch at one of the many restaurants on offer in the shopping precinct.
Feeing happy that all was mechanically sound with Bluey we set off to a spot on we found in Triel sur Seine. An hour and a half later we were enjoying a beer looking at the barges travelling along the River Seine.
