Visited: Family
If we can, we will always try and avoid travel on toll roads and minimise motorways too, as we want to see and travel through villages and towns. So today we mainly drove along N12, the old National Route Paris- Rennes. We stopped in VERNEUIL SUR AVRE (visited in 2018) for breakfast, a shower and dump point use. The GPS then took us through the middle of town past some lovely half timbered buildings to the supermarket.
Further along the N12 we had a lunch stop in PRE EN PAIL. We parked in the allocated aire and went for a walk along the main street which had some interesting murals.
Big insect house
From ERNEE we went along some minor roads, taking us through some beautiful countryside arriving in LA BOUËXIÈRE in the mid afternoon.
Huge cathedral…
We enjoyed a lovely evening at my Tante Marie and having the famous roast chicken dinner with my cousins Pascal and Jacqueline.
After breakfast and the sunshine burned off the fog, we walked down to the Château where my Tante Marie’s grandfather had been born and spent his early childhood.
We then set off to have a delicious lunch at my cousin Annick and Fernand along with cousin Martine and Gerard.
