Sweden

Travelled:385km across Sweden towards Stockholm
Stay: Sodertalje- free 24hr parking at a small beach (park4night) 59.1579 17.6596

First thing this morning was going through customs...green line for us 'nothing to declare'. We wonder if anyone actually declares anything these days?

We hadn't planned to do so many Kms today, but the roads were straight, quick and mostly double lanes, so we managed to get to within 50km out from Stockholm for a fresh start tomorrow morning.
Along the way we learnt (thanks google) that Australia is 17.4 times larger than Sweden, which has a population of just under 10million. We also found out, that like Norway, Sweden does not allow high alcohol content drinks to be sold in supermarkets. So we decided to try and find one of these elusive 'bottle shops' called System Bolaget. I even downloaded an app that helped to locate one along our way, so we had to go and have a look! Of course, whilst there it was a pity to do the trip for nothing, so I bought a 3 litre 'chateau cardboard' as prices for the bottled stuff were still too expensive. The box wasn't that cheap at 186sek (€19) but oh well!

Another unfamiliar label!

On the plus side we found a Lidl store and bought up on our favourite biscuits (Mike and Jan you know the ones!) our next experience for the day was an aire (Stellplatz) that had a service point, WC, showers, electricity and wifi with great water views - all for free! (59.3211, 14.5359) We made the most of it and had a 'real shower'. Fellow motorhomers will understand!

Here we were introduced to a new app called Ställplatser. Just to add another data base if we are really struggling to find a spot for the night! We continued on and we're slightly wondering what to expect of the parking area for tonight as we passed a heavy industrial port area. We were pleasantly surprised by the quaint little beach surrounded by a wooded area and lovely wooden homes. It was quite busy but emptied out as the day went on.
