Tower of London

After a rest day yesterday, we got back into the tourist mode today. This morning we purchased the tickets at a reduced price on the web and after a good start with a fortifying cooked English Breakfast, we got to the Tower of London just after 10am.

We spent the next 4 hours exploring. We saw the Coins and Kings exhibition, the Crown Jewels, the Fusiliers' Museum, the White Tower with armour and weapons exhibits. We also had a look in the Bloody Tower amd then walked along the wall. It was very interesting to learn about the history here and there were lots of tours and people in character to find out how life was like here back in the day.

Feeling a tad hungry we went to Brick Lane to get a curry lunch from one of the many restaurants here. We then rolled out and took the tube to The Monument of the great London Fire. From here we walked over London Bridge and made our way back to the apartment to recover

London Westend

It was a beautiful day in London. We took the train to Westminster and then walked the rest of the day ending at Tower Bridge.  We saw Big Ben and Westminster Abbey.

On the way we visited the Supreme Court.

Then we watched the changing of the Horse Guards

and walked past Downing Street.

We had a pit stop in a traditional pub near Scotland Yard before making our way to Trafalgar Square.

Near Leicester Square the kids enjoyed visiting the M&M store before heading to Piccadilly Circus.

 We strolled past Australia House

and then went in the Royal Courts of Justice.

We poked our head in a couple of old pubs before stopping at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, one of the oldest pubs in London est.1667.

We had a look in St.Pauls Cathedral before walking over the Millennium Bridge, then along the Thames to Tower Bridge and had a look where Tom and Kristy worked before taking the train back to the apartment for a fish n chip take away dinner.
