Chinon

Travelled:95km
Stay: Azay le Rideau- aire free parking, € services N47°15.555' E0°28.164' / 47.26006, 0.47022

Drove into Brissac with the intention of visiting the Chateau,  but after a frustrating telephone call with the Italians, we could only cope with a walk around town (there will be lots more chateaux to see). Bottom line is there seems to be no chance of fixing Bluey before we head home.

So after buying our daily baguette and a yummy cake (comfort food) we drove along the Loire River through numerous towns with lots of wine cellars and homes set into the limestone cliffs.
In Chinon we spent over 3 hours visiting the Royal Fortress built in the 1150's by Henry II, King of England. Joan of Arc also visited here in 1429.

We then drove to the aire in a pleasant village of Azay le Rideau.
