Verdun sur Le Doubs & Louhans

Travelled: 65km
Stay: Louhans- aire along river, free parking oct-apr, free services N46°37.777' E5°12.777' / 46.62982, 5.21322

A rainy start to the day, so we headed off to Verdun sur Le Doubs. It is where the Doubs River flows into the Soane River. We had a walk around and were amazed at the size of the barge and how low it was in the water, obviously filled to capacity.

We then set off for the aire in Louhans situated on the river. It boasts a unique medieval heritage, it's main street features 157 arcades. It church also has a beautiful glazed tiled roof. We followed the walking tour to a variety of historic buildings around town. Later we had a nice walk along the river.
