Col de Galibier France

Day 80 Thursday 23 July 2026

We headed off early this morning, down through the alpine village of St.Sorlins where we stopped at the boulangerie for breakfast and then used the free service point to dump and fill as required. It was a beautiful drive down into the valley.

This time we stopped at St.Jean de Maurienne for some fuel and a quick shop.

Next we turned up to drive over the Col de Telegraph (2022,2024).

We continued straight through Valliore.. a very busy and touristy alpine town.

Then up to the Col de Galibier. The scenery is spectacular and as the Tour de France will be riding through here in 2 days time, it is very busy with cyclists, cars, motorbikes and of course lots of motorhomes!

Unfortunately close to the pass we could not get any mobile reception so we turned around and came back down eventually finding a spot to watch the tour on Saturday.

We spent the rest of the day decorating Bluey, going for a walk and relaxing.

92km
