Day 81/82 Friday/Saturday 24/25 July 2026
Friday was a rest day. The weather was glorious. We enjoyed a couple of walks, watched the traffic go past and chatted to a few people. Lots of photos are taken of Bluey.

On Saturday morning there was a constant flow of people driving and riding up towards the Col de Galibier before the road closes at 10am. They all want to get a spot to cheer the Tour De France cyclists up the highest pass for this year’s race. It’s also the last stage before they go to Paris tomorrow. We were at the 100km mark near the Plan Lachat.
The ‘caravan’ where all the goodies are thrown out to the crowd passed us just after 12 noon.

Then the cyclist rode past here between 2:30- 3 pm.
We then packed up and drove up once again over the Col de Galibier (2642m) It was very busy and we had to wait at the top for the road to open.
Then down to the Col de Lautaret (2058m).
It was also very busy but we managed to find a spot here so we decided to stay here for the night and wait out the Tour traffic.
