Old Langi Crossing WA

We had a busy day ahead of us as we returned once more, and for the last time, to Broome. The 30km out of Pender Bay seemed a little smoother as we had the tyres a bit lower (70psi back and 43psi front). Then we were back on the bitumen to town.

It was more of a pit stop rather than a visit, as we did a load of washing, filled up Buster with water, food and fuel in preparation for our adventures on the Gibb River Road. 326km later we had pulled up at a beautiful spot on the Fitzroy River at the Old Langi Crossing. It was 10km dirt road from the highway but well and truely worth it.

Our spot was overlooking the water teaming with bird life. We are told people have spotted not only fresh water crocodiles but also a couple of 5m salties. We got the binoculars out for a closer look. Unfortunately it was too gusty for the drone. There are still rocks in the water marking out the old crossing. Apparently the fishing is good here too. We enjoyed a couple of quiet nights here.
