It was surprising how many cars during the night drove along the small road next to where we had parked…. And only 2 tooted to annoy us and the other van that was also parked here… c’est la vie! Before heading off we had a quick walk across the reservoir wall.
We have no set destinations and are at the mercy of the weather to what we do.We drove up through the Brecon Beacons National Park which mainly consists of high open country with grassy slopes but also a few sections of waterfalls and wooded gorges. We were keen for a walk but alas the drizzle had set in so we could only contend ourselves with a cloudy and wet view from Bluey.
Luckily it was dry in Brecon when we arrived so we were able to stop and have a walk around. It wasn’t very busy as the shops had not opened yet but we did sneak in a Gregg’s sausage roll and a pink jammie. Unfortunately the church was closed. We also went to look at the canal basin area too.
Next we went to a National Trust property, Dinefwr Park/ Newton House. Set in 800 acres of park land the 17th century manor house had 3 floors to explore, learning about its architecture and history.

The lord of the manor.
Promoted to head butler
Gorgeous Wales and the Towy River
Needing an afternoon off we drove down to Kidwelly Quay which offered free parking and some easy walks along the canal that once had been used to transport coal from the train to boats.
There are big tidal movements here.
123km today.
We stayed here at Kidwelly a couple of nights. Fabulous place T &I
