Essentially it plays tribute to pioneers of the outback and to stockmen and women who have shown courage and resilience. Through interactive displays we got an insight of the many challenges of rural life.

Most times women would not leave the farm so the travelling salesman was essential for them.
After work it’s time to play… some test their skills at the rodeo.
Entertainments also toured the country.
And pubs were always popular.
We were then entertained by a performing stockman who explained how to break a horse in. He did a few tricks with his horses.
He also showed us how to heard sheep with his dogs.
Finally he sang us some songs including one on top of his bull.
With information overload we made our way out of town passing through Ilfracombe and the Machinery Mile.

We continued to a camp site in Barcaldine for the night.
