Visited: Gaffney Creek
Stay: Scotts Reserve Woods Point - Toilet, shelters, fire pits (-37.559419 146.239804)
We needed to make a phone call so we decided to continue our journey and drove to Woods Point.
We drove into have a look at Knockswood Reserve. The river was shallow and had a few trees fallen over the river.
It was a beautiful drive through some lovely forests and some old mining towns such as Gaffney Creek.
The A1 Gold mine recommenced in 2016 after having been closed in 1992. Gold was first discovered here in 1861 and during that time the mine produced 450,000 ounces of Gold.
We were glad we were driving on the narrow roads early in the morning before we were sharing the road with the trucks.
We decided to stay the night at Scotts Reserve, a couple of kilometres from Woods Point.
