An Australian couple travelling in Europe in a motorhome (Bluey), exploring Australia in a caravan and a self built Isuzu expedition 4 x 4 motorhome (Buster).
Stay: Coopers Creek Campground - free, toilets, fire pits (-37.980999, 146.424492)
We managed a short getaway before the Christmas season started and so headed to the old goldfields area Gippsland.
Along the way we stopped to have a look at Seninis Campground (-38.023674 146.340587) but decided not to stay due to the poor access to the river.
Coppers Creek wasn't far away however due to fallen trees over the road we had to turn back and select another route which ended up to be a better option anyway as it was about a 2km drive on a gravel track off the main road to Walhalla. There were a few campers but we managed to choose a nice spot in the second camping area and settled in for the afternoon.
The toilet block was fairly new and clean.
The picnic area had great views and access to the river.
We enjoyed a BBQ dinner before relaxing in front of the fire.
