Day 17, Thursday 21 May 2026
We had another magnificent day in this beautiful part of the Pyrenees mountains in France. We only drove 28km but enjoyed an alpine walk along the way and then couldn’t resist a parking spot in the GUZET ski resort..
After a peaceful night next to Lake Lers we drove a short distance to the Col d’Agnes. We were wowed by the views of the snow capped mountains.
Another 8km down the road we stopped to go for a 4.5km/2 hour walk to the small glacial LAKE LABANT. The track took us through lovely beech forests, alpine meadows and along clear mountain streams… so idyllic. And of course with non stop views of those gorgeous mountains.

We decided to have a look at the GUZET ski station 12km away and got a spot at the top next to the chairlift with amazing 360° views… it was too beautiful to leave.. and so we stayed. It’s a relatively small ski village and this time of year essentially deserted.
