Has a big day driving along windy and narrow roads. Weather was beautiful and the scenery was stunning. Did some shopping and stopped off at Information Office in Roums and got some maps of the drive along the Gorges of the Ardeche. Very popular for canoeing, walking and camping with lots of opportunities to participate. We just drove through and enjoyed the many viewing stops along the way and visited one of the caves, Grotto Madeleine. It was very beautiful.
After finishing off the drive late in the
afternoon we decided to drive closer to Avignon. We found an Aire in Chasclan at
a vineyard and rested up. Got a little stressed and tired after driving along
single lane country roads with deep gutters we don’t want to fall into, that
Camy (nickname for our Camos GPS) chose for us to reach our destination.
After dinner we walked to the town centre and discovered an ancient village with buildings made of the local sandstone, quite different from what we have seen so far.
