Haven't seen a moose yet
Air and road temperature
Lovely farms
Cities in both Finnish and Swedish

After a quiet night we set off to Turku, which had been the capital of Finland beford Helsinki, when it was under Swedish rule. Although ravished by fire many times, it has managed to retain many older buildings.  After parking Bluey we strolled 1km along the river to the tourist office.

From here we walked through the Old Market and then into Market Square.

We admired the beautiful staircase in the library and we're amused by the unique 'yarn bombing' creations on the trees.

Amazing what can be done with wool.

The huge red brick cathedral is said to be the 'mother church' of Finland's Lutheran faith.

We walked back to Bluey and then drove to have a look at Finland's largest castle.

Sun worshippers
Pedestrian ferry

We had a quick pit stop to do our services near the port area before heading off to the shopping centre to do our laundry. Apparently laundromats are not very common here, so we took the opportunity whilst we could. An hour or so later we were on our way again to our spot for tonight

More things Aussie
Automatic recycling
Clean clothes...yay!

  1. It would seem that you chose a good time for your Scandinavia trip....no huge crowds to battle, no heavy traffic, plenty of
room at the overnight parking, sunshine....what more could you want? Enjoying your adventures from afar, carry on!
    Cheers...Jan & Mike.

    1. Yes we are feeling very lucky so far. It won't be long until you head off. You would be happy to see Freo in the top 8 and beating the Eagles. All the best
