Mount William NP Tasmania

Thankfully the wind seemed to die down overnight and we had a peaceful sleep but it then picked up again this morning. We ventured off back down the road we came and turned off into Mount William National Park. We drove along Forester Kangaroo Drive and did see some roos but not sure which species.

We veered off and looked at a few campsites situated on the shores of Stumpy Bay. Stopping to have breakfast and a stroll at #4.

Being early in the day we continued on and getting our exercise for the day by walking 35 mins up to the summit of Mt William (216m alt.).

Once again we were rewarded with some great views.

Unfortunately we couldn’t see Flinders Island today but that’s Musselroe Bay where we stayed last night.

Our next destination was Eddystone Lighthouse stands at 32 m tall and was built in 1889 from local granite.

A sneaky photo through a little hole and spotted this beautiful staircase.

We decide to try to find a campsite at Policeman’s Point and got lucky with campers pulling out of a waterfront spot just as we drove in. View from our spot.

This is in the Bay of Fires Conservation Area which is renowned for its white sand beaches, clear blue seas and granite rocks splashed with orange lichen. We are situated on the northern section at the mouth of Ansons Bay. Unfortunately it’s still very windy  but we did manage a walk along the beach.

Our 86km trip today.
