From Ardrossan we drove through Adelaide to a camp ground in McLaren Vale in the heart of one of SA premier wine growing areas. We enjoy a rest day and walk along one of the trails.
We take in the coastal views at Aldinga Beach.
It was a very picturesque drive over hills and along the coast via Normanville.
The rock formations in Second Valley were amazing.
The Rapid Bay campsite is exceptional and we enjoyed a couple nights here.
A great spot to camp with water views...
A lovely white beach to walk along..
There were caves to explore...
Beautiful sunsets..Traditional homes to admire...
A jetty to walk or fish on offering great views too...
and a bit of dolphin spotting...
What more could you want?
We headed down to Jervis Bay where the ferry goes to Kangaroo Island, but not scheduled in this trip.
Deep Creek National Park is very beautiful with breathtaking views. Hopefully visit another time without the dog.
It was difficult to find a place to stay in both Victor Harbour and Port Elliot with the dog. Luckily we had visited these lovely towns before.
so we continued on to Goolwa. We explored the historical town and went out to look at the Murray river mouth from Hindmarsh Island as well as the barrage.
The set of 5 barrages were constructed to prevent salt water from travelling up hundreds of kilometres up stream and to protect Adelaide's fresh water supplies. Sharks used to be sighted up to 200km upstream. We stopped for a cuppa at Clayton Bay.
Then made our way to Meningie and camped there on the shores of Lake Albert.
We continued along the Coorong.
We continued along the Coorong.
