BUILD- Electric Fitout

Another big couple of weeks...this time concentrating on the electrics.  We purchased an Enerdrive System (eSYSTEM I). This 60A AC and DC kit includes a Morningstar TriStar 45Amp Solar Controller and Simarine Battery Monitor, EPOWER B-Tec 300AH Lithium battery, EPOWER 2600w inverter and 4 x 180w solar panels. All up $10,440 (just for the system). We replaced the 6 fuse BlueSea Blade Fuse Block with a one with 12 circuits. We will use the 6 blade fuse block in the cab.

Justin from Lumitec worked over 3 days to set it all up, Mark working by his side and by himself on other days to have everything ready.

Mark installed all the 12v lights, fans, switches and chargers.

Touch lamps above bed, dinette and bathroom.

Reading lights next to bed with USB charger.

3 switch - 1 awning light, 1 inside dinette light, 1 spare. Step switch

Sirocco fan in dinette and in bed area. 12v USB and cig charger. 2 switch - 1 for external light on drivers side and 1 fridge fans.
The other 12v appliances needing power ie diesel hot water/heater, water pump, fridge (Bushman190l), toilet (Thetford C402C), Dometic gas oven (ignition), reversing camera (Safety Dave), external clearance lights, the Thule external steps. Fantastic and the Midi Heki skylight all needed to be wired in.

Mark soldered some connections and used junction boxes and connectors on other wires to get the them back to the locker under the dinette.
The Simarine Control panel and the Inverter Controller.
We connected the water tanks sensors to one of the Simarine shunts. I found some youtube videos to help set the Simarine up and program the tanks. Enerdrive had preprogramed their system thankfully.

We also put brackets on the solar panels to get them ready for installation.
Wires to be tied up under the panels once the system was tested.
Next came the 240v wiring for the sockets inside and outside of the box. We used a CMS inlet with a RCD switch for the incoming shore power to the system.
Then used 240v electrical cable from there as it was more flexible and could be cut to required lengths, so it was not as bulky as the CMS cables and power points. We have 2 double power points inside (kitchen and dinette area), one in the electric locker and one outside on the passenger side. The appliances that required 240v connection were the Harrier Lite airconditioner and the oven fan and one electric plate.

Justin explained to us how to use a multimeter to check the currents going in and out of the Enerdrive system.

Last of all Justin helped set up the 12v power coming from the house system to the front cab for car chargers, GPS unit, UHF radio etc. We also set up a 24v trickle charger for the truck batteries.
