Those who know us have been aware for quite some time that Mark's dream has been to build an expedition motorhome. With lots of research he decided on an Isuzu NPS 75-155 single cab manual 4 x 4 and wanted the modifications to be done by All Terrain Warriors in Yandina, Queensland. After many discussions and guidance from Chris we put in an order back in August 2021. Unfortunately, we had continued delays due to Covid and other unforeseen occurrences. Our original truck delivery date of March 2022 was postponed to July 22 and then again to January 23. During this time we designed the habitation box to be fitted on the back and purchased all that we would need for this build (more details to come in future posts). In November 22 we were lucky enough to get an earlier ordered truck (someone pulled out) and ATW performed a miracle for Christmas.
Daniel Baber (from The Truck Specialists in Swan Hill was the Isuzu dealership the truck was originally ordered through), has been wonderful to deal with. We wanted to fly up to pick up the truck from ATW and drive home. Daniel offered to register the truck and post us the number plates so we could take them with us to drive home. All he needed were the modification certificates from ATW and the weight of the truck (3.84T). Unfortunately due to Australia Post slow mail they didn't arrive before we left. Luckily we had a plan B which was to get a Unregistered Vehicle Permit in Queensland. This was easily done by ATW (3 days $170). On the up side we could not be charged toll fees.
At long last we were able to pick up our new Isuzu. Here's some info on our subframe and extras from ATW : 19.5" Goodride Super Singles, Bull Bar with Sherpa winch 17000, parabolic springs with Oztec shocks, Hayman Reese tow bar, 2nd 140l fuel tank, Stratos seat, Sock Ring/Crawl Through, spring mounted subframe, 3 x water tanks - 170l, 85l, 40l (originally to be a waste water tank). Roof basket and ladder, breather kit, cab sound proofing, cab entry handle kit.
Just got to drive 1900km to get it
home…then the fun really begins.... motorhome build on the tray.
