Decided to just hang around on the canal today. Unfortunately yesterday's lovely sunshine was replaced by rain but we still managed to give Bluey a clean. We also walked into town to buy a baguette and watched our first movie. Before dinner we walked along the other side of the canal and came across the fireworks for tonight. It is common now to celebrate on the eve of Bastille day. Hopefully they will go off not only due to the rain but because he asked me if I had a light! We also chatted to a lady on one of the barges tied up. Both her and her husband grew up on barges and one of their sons is a captain on a large vessel on the Rhone. The barging life is definitely in their blood. Let's hope the rain eases for the 10pm fireworks. ..only time will tell...keep posted!
