As it is our third time, the preparations have not been as taxing (especially as Mark has his 10 year visa). The main ingredient was the airline tickets which prompted the discussion of how long this journey would be. The weather in May and October, along with missing our children, made us decide on 4 1/2 months. Our plans initially were to visit the Northern countries (Belgium, Germany, Sweden etc), but have now changed our minds. We plan to drive along the Italian coast stopping to visit Cinque Terre, Rome, Pompeii and then catch a ferry across to Dubrovnik. We will then drive through Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, maybe getting to Prague before heading, through Germany, back to Paris to meet up with our daughter. We will then travel together to London to visit our son and his fiancée for a couple of weeks.
Due to our extended travel out of France, our main issue for Bluey is the french gas bottle system. Two full 13kg bottles will last us about 50 days. Our research shows us that we have two options: buy a local gas bottle and the required fittings in each country or install a refillable LPG gas system. We decided to go with the latter. If you are interested please refer to our Gadgets Page for more detailed information.
So after getting a service done on Bluey and installing the new gas system.... we will be good to go on this years' adventure. We hope you enjoy the journey with us.
We are in Norway now, been up through Sweden and Finland. Looks like you are having a fabulous time ..... And better weather than us!
