Visited: Bodalla, Tuross Heads, Jervis bay
Stay: Kioloa Beach Camp Ground, Jervis Bay Holiday Park
Its always hard to leave a lovely spot but it was time to make tracks and so off we went. Bodalla offered a beautiful stone church that is notable for its unusual asymmetrical structure and eccentric baroque style.
We then enjoyed a walk in the seaside town of Tuross Heads.
We continued along the coast road through Batemans bay and into Kioloa which had a quiet beach camp.
The next day we made our way to Jervis Bay to catch up with our neighbours Ray and Dawn. Unfortunately our timing was poor as a Triathlon was being held the following day and it proved to be difficult to find a camp spot which shortened our stay. We ended up at The Jervis Bay Holiday Park in Woolamai. Jervis bay is 15km long and 10km wide and is thought to be Australia's deepest sheltered harbour. Reputedly it has the whitest sand in the world which turn the waters to a glorious aquamarine colour. The shores are edged by forest, woodland, swamps, dunes, mangroves, grassland, and heathland. The area has a rich geology and history. All in all there is a lot to explore. One day we will return to give it its due.
